1. I already have an egg donor program. Why should I consider your program?
Egg donor programs focused on American donors are much more expensive than GlobalART USA because the costs of screening, donor stimulation, egg retrieval, and donor stipends are considerably higher here than in Europe. Frequently, a patient who would like to participate in an egg donor program simply cannot afford it. Now you can offer a high-quality but substantially less expensive option to those patients that otherwise might become "lost to follow-up." Keep them in your practice! We also manage our program in a way that eliminates the need for a long patient waiting list, so you won't lose patients just because they don't have time to wait for an American donor.
2. I have an IVF practice that doesn't have an egg donor program. I've been referring my patients out. Is this program good for me and is it easy to implement?
If you have an IVF program, you can offer donor eggssimple as that! Patients no longer need to leave your practice. They don't want to leave, and you don't want them to go. You cryopreserve sperm and send it to uswe return cryopreserved embryos to you, and the patient is never uprooted or inconvenienced.
3. How long has the program been working? Where?
The program has been working successfully at the American Medical Center in Israel since 1995. The medical center in Israel sends our patients' frozen sperm to our European laboratory and clinic and frozen embryos are returned to Israel. Through GlobalART USA, the program has expanded to the United States. In this country, Dr. Sanford Rosenberg (a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist in Richmond, Virginia) has been using the program since 2002 with great success.
4. What have the results been?
The program has produced over 1,200 births in Israel. In the United States, as of October 2007, we have had 43 successful pregnancies (70% of total patients). Of these pregnancies, 81.4% occurred on the first embryo transfer, and 18.6% occurred after subsequent transfers.
5. How much does the program cost?
If the patient chooses to receive half of the eggs from her donor, the base price is $8,400. This cost provides five (or possibly more) embryos. For an additional $5,250, she can elect to receive ALL the eggs from that donor. This cost provides ten or more embryos and occasionally results in as many as 18 or 20, depending on the number of eggs retrieved. With multiple embryos, the patient could possibly have three or even four embryo transfers for the original financial outlay.
6. How can I be sure my patients are getting high-quality, well-screened donors?
All of our donors are young and healthy, and many have demonstrated fertility. Most are currently enrolled in or have finished higher education programs. They are screened for psychological fitness twiceat an initial interview and then by an outside specialist.
7. What do you mean by "guaranteed"?
When given good quality sperm, GlobalART guarantees that your patient will receive at least two embryos of transferable quality, as determined by your embryologist's standards, for a shared cycle of eggs. For an unshared cycle of eggs, the patient receives at least four embryos of transferable quality, once again as determined by your embryologist's standards. We also guarantee a minimum number of embryos, based on 10-12 MII oocytes. The minimums are five or more embryos for half the eggs from one donor (Shared Cycle) or 10 or more for all the eggs from one donor (Unshared Cycle).
